Veronica & Asya

Our collaboration started in the summer of 2021, when we began performing and teaching together in Paris. We have since been working both in Paris and across Europe, so far including Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Portugal, building a repertoire and a shared artistic vision that continues to deepen with every performance and class.

Being an all-female couple poses its challenges. Despite being women, our tango collaboration is still “traditional”, as we don’t change roles. People value our connection as equal, fluid, soft and musical. We have participate in “traditional” tango events as well as Queer Tango events. Being one of the first female couples in the world means we both need to affirm our place next to mixed gender couples, but also offer a fresh, new perspective on tango, very much needed in a post-pandemic world where more people are interested in learning both roles.

Thomas Rieser, Nou Tango Berlin: “Veronica and Asya create a space where learning feels both safe and genuinely inspiring. Our participants made real progress on their tango journey, feeling both challenged and cared for throughout. Wonderful teachers, wonderful people to work with.”

Asya Moiseeva is originally from Russia, like me, and also lives in Paris. She has background in photography and cuisine and is also known as one of the best European tango DJ’s, invited to marathons and festivals. You can follow her on Instagram.

Performing

Our performing style is strongly rooted in both of us being, first and foremost, passionate social dancers. This is why we love performing in close embrace and with complex vocabulary that is still very much suited for social dancing.

Our second main focus is musicality. We strive to express the deeper, finer, profoundly felt aspects of every song we perform to. We try to reach for contrast between soft and powerfully dynamic, between intimate and extraverted. Our artistic exploration is that of always better, more attuned musicality as well as intricate vocabulary. As a female duo, we also bring in a softer, lighter flow to a dance that traditionally has always had a strong masculine presence. Watch more of our performances.

Our pedagogy & special interests

In our workshops we teach the main values described above: social dancing, close embrace, deep connection in the couple and first and foremost, musicality. Our aim when teaching can often be crystallised into the words “less is more”.

We love elegant, flowy movements without unnecessary physical force. We focus on the quality of walk and comfort in each other’s arms. We teach leading skills based on sensitivity and listening, and following that is about actively expressing your personality. See more of our workshop summaries.

Book us for your event!

Since we started performing and teaching together in 2022, we have worked at events in France, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Our workshops consistently attract strong attendance, including sold-out sessions in Lisbon in 2026 and fully booked workshops in Berlin, Essen and Freiburg in 2024. Our student base tends to reflect the evolving tango community: for example, around 70% of our Paris workshops participants are women learning to lead or dancing in same-role or double-role couples, a growing and enthusiastic demographic that many events are looking to engage. We are happy working as the sole invited couple for an intimate workshop weekend as well as joining festivals alongside other teachers. Our fees are transparent and we love talking about formats that suit your event and your community. Past organizers are available as references on request.
